From the start we have been firmly entrenched in the South African fibre and textile market. From top making and spinning of natural fibre products to weaving of technically advanced performance fabrics, we quite literally ‘have done it all.’

Today we specialize in the distribution of technically advanced textiles, hardware and finishing supplies to the awning, marine, outdoor furniture and décor industries. Glen Raven Custom Fabrics

Glen Raven Custom Fabrics manufactures a host of fabrics for a variety of markets. The Dickson® brand of performance fabrics are known in Europe as the leaders in solar protection. Most consumers are familiar with our flagship brand, Sunbrella®. Over the years, Sunbrella has provided customers with a beautiful, durable fabric that has revolutionized the shade, marine and furniture markets.

Custom Fabrics spans the globe, but is anchored in the United States. In fact, in an era where most textile manufacturing has gone overseas, the majority of our fabrics are produced in the United States. Our main manufacturing facility is located in Anderson, S.C. with over 1 million square feet under one roof. In Anderson, yarn is spun and fabrics woven, finished, and go through extensive quality control. Having this entire process in one facility ensures the quality that industry leaders and consumers associate with the Sunbrella brand. Our satellite facilities in Europe and China are modeled after this plant, and provide the same quality fabric to our customers in those regions.

Mehler - Valmex Boat

Every sailor knows how much you rely on your equipment in an emergency situation. With this in mind, we have developed special materials for use in life rafts, large and small dinghies, and speed boats. Safety is our top priority, and all of our coated textiles for boats are subject to stringent testing. In response to our partners’ demanding requirements, and thanks to our ongoing development of our product range, we can offer our customers a wide range of designs, colours, functional lacquers, surface weights and levels of resistance to the elements.
